Housed in a converted four-story residence in the heart of the old town of Rovinj, The Melegran is an independent stylish hotel, offering guests a boutique base-camp for truly local experiences.
Set amongst the winding, cobbled streets of the ancient town of Rovinj on the tip of the Istrian peninsula, and a stone’s throw from the sparkling Adriatic sea, The Melegran knows how to unwind or get playful. The cool, contemporary bolthole has a bar on the ground floor to just mingle or spark your inner creativity – which you can put down on paper via the exquisite Olivetti typewriters supplied in every room! The hotel and rooms are decorated with colourful, comfortable furnishings that take their inspiration from the warm, vibrant colours of Rovinj and the town’s symbol, the pomegranate, (or “Melegran” in Istrian dialect).
We want you to relax, undo the bad and do what’s good for you, to invite the awakening, whether you’re seeking to write your own story, or just relax and reboot. Those who check in to tune out should also talk to our friendly staff about boating over to our beachclub and grabbing a sunlounger. Or pack a picnic and take one of our bikes through the tree-lined gravel paths to find your own secluded spot for a swim.
The seven luxurious rooms plus a spacious studio next door are kitted out with the home-away-from home comforts that you need to enjoy your stay in Rovinj or to explore the surrounding unspoilt wine regions of Istria. All rooms are double ensuites with the possibility of some accommodating children.
If you want to have the top floor of the hotel to yourself to stay close to friends or family, you can! The two rooms on the top floor may be combined with the connecting door through the kitchenette.
To enrich the experience, and exclusive to The Melegran, we offer arrival by speedboat from the main car park close to the town of Rovinj. Our skipper will take you around the old town of Rovinj, ending at a quay close to the hotel. Ask the skipper to slow down for photos and experience one of the most instagram-able views in Europe on arrival!
Speedboat transfers are EUR 25 per trip up to a maximum of 6-8 people depending on luggage and subject to availability. Please contact us at least one day in advance to arrival.
